Omnipilot Software, Inc. Celebrates Educational Milestone For Lasso

2004nov05
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - OmniPilot Software, Inc., a global provider of integrated management software, celebrates a milestone by announcing that over 1,000 educational institutions now use Lasso software solutions to build and serve robust data-driven Web sites. Lasso is an advanced Web application server used to tie databases to the Web.

In celebration of OmniPilot's milestone, the company will launch an enticing e-marketing campaign targeting IT departments within the educational sector with special promotions. In addition to a 30-day free trial and receiving a starter manual, new users who sign up within the first 1,000 hours of the promotion will receive an additional 10 percent off their software purchase.

Chad Roll, Chief Operations Officer, OmniPilot added, "Lasso has positioned itself as the premier cross-platform IT management solution for both businesses and educational institutions. Armed with a new marketing campaign, we plan to double our sales in 2005."

Educational institutions that use Lasso to power their Web sites include:

* University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences

* Yale University

* University of Michigan

* New York University

* Boston University

By using Lasso Professional from OmniPilot Software, the Institutional Review Board (IRB) at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), built a back-end system to manage data submitted by researchers for review known as the Automated Research Information Administrator (ARIA). Since ARIA was first implemented, the IRB office at UAMS has almost tripled its number of employees, expanded to incorporate a behavioral committee and plans to add a clinical trials committee. "Fortunately, FileMaker Pro and Lasso Professional Web Data Engine have been flexible enough for us to implement those changes in-house quickly and affordably," explains Seth Ganahl, senior programmer for ARIA.

FileMaker Pro's graphic capabilities, teamed with the power and ease of use in Lasso Professional have also proved extremely important for ARIA's success. "It's all part of good design, communications, and keeping up with the needs of our users," said Ganahl.

Lasso products excel in ease-of-use, performance, security and power. No other Web application server product line offers a more complete, easy to use total solution for both building and serving robust data-driven Web sites. With growing competition from free, open-source technologies, Lasso products have remained relevant and vital serving the needs of Web professionals who realize the huge productivity benefits offered by Lasso products.
