Commercial - a website, server, web application or web service that is for public or corporate access.
CLD - a Certified Lasso Developer has passed a test, and subscribed to a membership that comes with a CLD license for up to three instances on any server, on any OS, and only under the control of the CLD. Additional instances can be added and are billed on the next billing date. The installed license must have access to the LassoSoft provisioning server. The license operates in the same manner as the Master lease - stepping into Soft Expiration if payments are not current.
Cloud - a Cloud license is for use within one Company and comes with a starting point of two instances for use on any server on any OS. Additional instances can be added and are billed on the next billing date. The installed license must have access to the LassoSoft provisioning server. The license is similar to a Hosting lease, and operates in the same manner - stepping into Soft Expiration if payments are not current.
Developer mode - a fully functioning version of Lasso that has a limited number of IPs and a maximum connections limit and is intended for software development use only.
Instance - a physical or virtual website or websystem with a defined URL. Lasso Server 9.0 uses 'instances' as a core concept. Using L9.0 each setup requires it's own license, and will run up to the number of instances paid for with the license. Sites within the same company group can share an instance; unrelated sites need their own instance.
Install Support - 60 minutes of email support advice within 30 days of initial purchase or upgrade to a Master or Perpetual license from a current version.
Master - a leased right to use the Lasso Server software with automatic rights to upgrades for as long as the lease payments remain current.
OS - operating system. A physical or virtual server may run one or more operating systems, each within their own instance.
Perpetual - License to own a purchased copy of Lasso Server software indefinitely. Perpetual licenses have no updates included.
Prepaid Support - Support time purchased more than 24 hours in advance of placing a support request.
Server - physical or virtual machine. A Server can hold many sites or instances, or many virtual machines each with an instance of an OS. Using LP8.6 each Site requires it's own Instance.
Soft Expiration - An end point on a Master or CLD license where payment coverage has ceased. A Soft expiry retains all operations of Lasso with the exception of Administrative access that is locked out and prevents changes or updates until a new license key is applied.
